History
Zoroastrainism was founded approximately 3500 years ago by the prophet Zoroaster in ancient Iran. Zoroastrianiam is one of the world's oldest monotheistic religions.
1600 BCE - Zoroastrianism is brought to Persia by Zarathustra. He is thought to have a vision from Ahura Mazda about bringing a monotheistic religion into an already polytheistic area.
600 BCE - The Gathas, or Zoroastian sacred texts, were first written and Zoroastianism started to become a main religion in Iran
549-330 BCE - The Zoroastrian Achaemenid empire formed under the Achaemenid empire founded by Cyrus the Great
220 BCE- 219 CE - The Zoroastrian Arsacid empire formed which was later known as a major and cultural power in Iran
220-650 CE - The Zoroastrian Sasanids empire formed after they all converted to Zoroastrianism
651 CE - Persecution of Zoroastrians start and the Sasanid empire falls
900 CE - Persecuted Zoroastrians flee to India for safety
1381-1720 CE - Zoroastrians are still being persecuted and their numbers get fewer
1979 CE - Iranian Revolution or Islamic Revolution lead to more persecution and Zoroastrians fled to India, United States, Europe, and Australia
